About Us

The mission of the Eternal Word Television Network is to serve the orthodox belief and teaching of the Church as proclaimed by the supreme Pontiff and his predecessors.
What do you do with $200, a garage, and a passionate desire to spread the message of Christ throughout the world?
Start a Media Network!
EWTN launched in 1981 when Mother Angelica stepped out in Faith and transformed the garage of her Poor Clare monastery in Birmingham, Alabama into a TV network. That humble leap of faith has blossomed into the world’s largest Catholic media organization, with an outreach to over 435 million television households in more than 160 countries and territories. Mother Angelica admits that her plans for evangelization when moving to Alabama did not include building a network. But God used Mother to found a Network whose mission has always been to teach others that “Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life" using every form of media possible. Media outreach began with EWTN television and radio networks in English and Spanish, and now includes the internet, social media, EWTN Publishing, and EWTN News services in multiple languages. Because of the faith of one cloistered nun, the Lord has blessed EWTN with the ability to truly reach people around the globe in every way possible with the message of His Gospel.
History of EWTN Media Missionaries
About The Media Missionaries Department
Our Vision is that every Media Missionary has a Missionary Mindset, a mindset which is gripped with the urgent question: "How swiftly can I share what I have received from EWTN?!”

The Network's Mission, since its founding, has been to spread the Eternal Word, and to teach others that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life - Media Missionary volunteers respond to that mission by sharing the message of the Gospel through EWTN.

Our Objectives for the department is to support the Media Missionaries in their work to evangelize with EWTN. The department grows by giving folks the opportunity to become Media Missionaries, and it maintains the means of providing this support and growth.

Please keep our department in your prayers. We want to be the best support for you in this ministry you have chosen, and we have goals and standards that could use your prayers to accomplish.

God bless, Carlos, EWTN Media Missionaries Office.
